Questions & Answers

MBAR Frequently Asked Questions

Learn about proper placement, case compatibility, cleaning, ordering, trials, and returns.

Need more information?

Contact Fanprobe if you have questions about placement, compatibility, ordering, or using the MBAR in your preparation room.

Contact Fanprobe
Where is the MBAR positioned?

The MBAR is positioned horizontally beneath the lower lumbar, extending from side to side. Center the MBAR and confirm that it is stable before beginning. It should not be placed beneath the shoulders, upper back, or neck.

Is the MBAR intended for embalmed cases?

Yes. The MBAR is designed for use with embalmed cases during dressing, positioning, casketing preparation, and related preparation-room procedures. It is not intended to replace approved equipment or procedures for handling unembalmed or actively leaking cases.

What case sizes can the MBAR support?

The MBAR was developed to support a wide range of case sizes, including bariatric cases weighing approximately 500 to 600 pounds. Proper placement, table stability, and standard professional handling procedures are still required.

Does it work on stainless-steel and plastic tables?

Yes. The MBAR can be used on stainless-steel and plastic preparation tables. Because surface conditions and traction can vary, always make sure the table and MBAR are clean, dry, properly positioned, and stable before beginning. Extra caution may be necessary with lighter cases or especially smooth surfaces.

How is the MBAR cleaned and disinfected?

The MBAR is made from sealed, nonporous LLDPE. Clean visible residue from the surface, apply a preparation-room disinfectant according to the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions, and allow the MBAR to dry completely before storage. Do not use abrasive tools that could damage the surface.

What is included with a standard order?

A standard $325 order includes one Mortuary Balancing Bar and one protective travel case. Standard orders also include free shipping within the continental United States. Different terms may apply to student, bulk, trial, and international orders.

How does the 14-day trial work?

An authorized $325 deposit hold is required for the trial. The 14-day period allows your organization to evaluate the MBAR before deciding whether to keep it. Trial shipping is not free. The MBAR must be returned on time and in acceptable condition to avoid being charged under the trial terms.

What is the return policy?

Standard purchases are protected by Fanprobe’s 60-day Satisfaction Guarantee. Contact Fanprobe before returning the product to receive return instructions. The MBAR should be cleaned, disinfected, and returned in acceptable condition. Shipping charges and any applicable return costs are not refundable.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders are prepared for shipment after payment and order details are confirmed. You will receive tracking information once the order leaves our facility. Contact Fanprobe before ordering if you need the MBAR by a specific date.

Are bulk and student prices available to everyone?

No. Bulk pricing is available for qualifying orders of 10 or more units. Student pricing is reserved for verified students who complete the approval process. Student orders do not include free shipping, and eligibility must be confirmed before the discount can be used.
