Mortuary Complexity Simplified

■ WHERE IT ALL STARTED

The First Solution Wasn’t Perfect - It Just Had to Work

A large piece of meat wrapped in plastic on a stainless steel hospital gurney in a sterile environment

Using everyday materials, our founder Kristopher R. Mickens built the earliest version of what would become the Mortuary Balancing Bar™. It wasn’t refined or stable—but it was tested where it mattered most: inside a real funeral home during real preparation work.

At the time, there was no purpose-built tool for positioning during preparation or dressing. Funeral professionals relied on improvised methods that slowed workflow and added strain.

That experience revealed something simple: Funeral professionals needed support, not another obstacle.

■ FROM IDEA TO INNOVATION

The Mortuary Balancing Bar™ — Engineered for the Prep Room

A black fitness or strength training resistance bar on a stainless steel table in a clinical or gym setting.

What began as a rough prototype evolved into a durable tool built for real prep room conditions.

The Mortuary Balancing Bar™ provides stable lower lumbar support, creating 6.5” of consistent elevation for improved access, leverage, and positioning during dressing and casketing.

Refined through real-world use and feedback from funeral professionals.

Simple. Reliable. Built for the human side of funeral work.

Our Ethical Promise

We’re committed to responsible sourcing, durable materials, and manufacturing choices that prioritize safety and longevity.
