Our Story
Fanprobe was founded to address the real, everyday challenges faced in funeral service. Our story begins in the prep room of a busy Maryland funeral home handling nearly 30 funerals each week. In such a high-volume setting, preparation and casketing often risked delays—especially with limited staff on hand.
It was in that environment that Kristopher Mickens, Fanprobe’s founder, saw the need for a smarter, more supportive solution. Drawing on more than 14 years of firsthand experience, he developed the Mortuary Balancing Bar™—a tool designed to act like an extra set of hands, streamlining workflow while easing the physical demands placed on funeral directors and embalmers.
The Mortuary Balancing Bar quickly proved itself to be both practical and indispensable. That success became the foundation of Fanprobe, a company dedicated to designing innovative tools and systems that make funeral care more efficient, reliable, and supportive—for both professionals and the families they serve.
At Fanprobe, we are a product innovation company focused on solving real-world problems with bold ideas and practical design. We specialize in developing tools, services, and systems that improve the way people work, move, and live—beginning with industries that are often underserved and needs that are too often overlooked.
From the Mortuary Balancing Bar to future solutions in logistics, wearable technology, and beyond, our mission is to challenge the status quo with products that are simple, efficient, and impactful. We believe innovation doesn’t need to be flashy—it just needs to make life and work better.
We listen to professionals, collaborate with end users, and build with intention. Fanprobe is where forward-thinking meets hands-on execution—whether in funeral service, healthcare, logistics, or in everyday tools that create meaningful impact.
